PEAKY PUNTER CAPS OFF NEW RACING TRADITION

MIDNIGHT Black, Ascot Grey, Royal Blue, The Burgundy and The Rose!

Classy names for varieties of flowers and shrubs, you might assume.

But you’d be wrong.

In fact they are names of caps Victorian businessman and entrepreneur Nick Cartledge has cleverly introduced to the market under his Peaky Punter banner.

“Peaky Punter was built on a simple belief,” Cartledge tells Provincial RacingNSW.

“Race day should feel like something again.

“Not just a bet; not just a crowd – it’s day out.

“A day to dress up, feel confident and have fun with friends.

“The races are one of the few places where fashion and style are still part of the event.”

Cartledge was working on a different import line – underwear if you must know – when he came up with the idea of caps.

“I have always loved the flat caps, and always love going to the races,” he said.

“Australian racing has always had tradition, energy and character, but somewhere along the way the style faded.

“We’re here to change that.

“Peaky Punter is a brand inspired by the heritage of race day, built for the modern crowd.

“We take the classic cap and bring it back into the spotlight – not as something old, but rather something powerful, stylish and current.

“It was a fine balance in regard to getting both style and quality right, and at the same time making the caps affordable for everyone.

“We want the new generation to light up the racing scene with style.”

Whilst the aforementioned “Varieties” all have been popular, no more so than The Rose.

“Our caps definitely are not for men alone,” Cartledge said.

“The ladies especially love the pink cap (The Rose).

“It has been created to celebrate individuality, confidence and the timeless spirit of race day tradition.

“Designed for those who appreciate elegance with a modern edge, this limited edition brings a softer, refined tone to the classic Peaky Punter silhouette.”

New additions to the Peaky Punter stable include The Bookmaker, The Emerald and The Camel.

And the latest addition, Ivory White, made its entrance on the home turn this week.

“We apologise for using AI, but we were unable to get a camel at short notice to announce the release of the new Camel Peaky Cap,” Cartledge said.

“The Camel is here and it’s great, so order now.”

Cartledge understandably is excited by the response already to his team of caps.

“Race day is your stage, and how you show up matters,” he tells us.

“From the first drink to the final race, a Peaky Punter cap completes the look with confidence, style and presence.

“This is more than fashion, it’s identity – the Australian way.”

Cartledge began his new venture only 12 months ago, and clearly the business is galloping along at a pace.

His dream is to one day see grandstands at Fabulous Flemington, Royal Randwick, Eagle Farm and beyond full of Peaky Punter caps.

“I would know then that this project of #bringbackthecap has made it first past the post,” Cartledge concluded.

And Cartledge has provided our Provincial Racing NSW followers a special 20% discount (see above), so you can be ahead of the fashion stakes on race day!
