THE Newcastle course proper will now host tomorrow’s scheduled country meeting on the inside Beaumont track.
RacingNSW announced today that following 16mm of rain in the past 24 hours, the Beaumont was downgraded to mainly a “Heavy 8”, but a section of the track at the 200m was deemed unsuitable for racing.
As a result of the switch, there are a number of distance changes.
The respective Maiden Handicaps (CG&E and F&M) have gone from 1150m to 1200m, as has the Benchmark 58 Handicap.
However, the Benchmark 66 Handicap has been reduced from 2100m to 1890m.
With the switch to the course proper, the rail is out 10m and a “Soft 5” rating has been posted.
The seven-race program begins at 12.55pm.
